Braunschweig, 13 May 2013 – When Apple introduced its most recent iPhone, iPad and iPod generation, the company changed the design of its cord interface, replacing the 'traditional' Apple (30-pin) dock connector with the new Lightning connector, which–according to Apple's marketing chief Phil Schiller–will be the standard at Apple for the next 10 years.
Cabstone™ has just introduced four new versions of cord and charger adapters that are based on the new standard. The authentication chips of all of these products include the official Apple license, which guarantees unrestricted functionality on a par with the OEM accessories.
Synchronizing and charging
The Lightning plug is slim, robust, and can be used with either side up. The related USB sync & charging cord from Cabstone™ is 1.2 m long and–at speeds of up to 480 Mbit/s–allows fast data synchronization with a Mac or a PC. At the same time, it supplies connected devices with charging current, and it can also be used with other USB devices in cars, at the office, or at home.
Power supplies optional
Users who do not always want to charge their iPhones, iPads or iPods only from a PC/Mac can use the optional power supplies available. Both power supplies come as a set either with a USB adapter/Euro plug, or with a compact car charger. Their current output (2.1 Amps) is even sufficient for charging the battery of Apple's own large tablet fast and completely. The plug-in power supply is designed for 100 to 240 Volts, so that it can also be used on trips abroad. The car adapter is also operable on 24 Volt on-board systems (not just the usual 12 V), so that it will work both for cars as well as big rigs.
All-in-One
If you want to keep things flexible and simple, your best bet is getting one of the new all-in-one sets. Compared to the individual components, they offer an attractive price advantage, and they each include a 240 V power supply, a car charger/adapter, and the USB 2.0 cord.
Starting at the end of May, all of these versions will also be available from retailers with the Apple dock connector (30-pin), or with Micro-USB connectors for smartphones and tablets from other manufacturers, at the following prices:
